4.25 miles

Tonight we decided to go for a nice brisk walk on the trail.
We decided to take the trail south this time and travel along the river. It's quite a hilly terrain going that way, but great for getting a good workout!!
I've worked up quite a sweat!
One thing about being in a woodland area near a river in the evening....the mosquitoes are sure to be out in full force. And boy were they!!!
Despite all the swatting it was still a beautiful place to walk!
Although we had to alter our route on the way back for fear of being eaten alive!

All in all it was still a great workout and helped me get some good photos in for my #BREAKYOURSELFIE photo for today. We are nearing the end of this challenge already.

Start the morning right

I usually start a weekend morning pretty slow, Sunday in particular. This morning I got up at 9am got some laundry going, made myself some breakfast, and entered it into MyFitnessPal. It was then time to settle in on the couch to eat and check out BurnThis for inspiration for the day.
Today I saw this post...


It's so true, there are always things to feel good about, and to feel bad about. But what you focus on is what determines your true reality. I'm happy this morning. It's looking like it's going to be a nice day, I made a kick ass breakfast...check it out...


Not only does that look yummy and healthy but so low in calories. And full of healthy ingredients!

I'm all set to go into the world and be amazing! Now that's what I call something to be happy about.

It's so important to choose your focus for the day. I feel like, at least for myself...If I don't, my mind will find something to worry or feel bad about. Making a conscious choice in the morning to focus on the things I can do to make my day great, gives me a sense of power and control. Sometimes a few small victories is all I need to face the rest of what the world has to offer with confidence!

White Pines Trail tonight - C25K W3D3

Tonight I did couch to 5K training. I didn't really feel like it...but I read this article:
http://womensrunning.competitor.com/2015/06/stephanie-bruce/one-runner-says-this-happens-in-the-first-7-minutes-of-a-run_41886 and thought, well all I have to do is get out and move for 7 minutes. Which turned out to be a lot more.

That's my halfway through selfie lol.
I actually did almost 4 miles tonight.

I'm gearing up for another 5k. This one is the Glow time 5k. It's Glow Time 5K
It sounds pretty cool!! So between now and August 22nd I gotta get some running in!!

My W3D3 run went like this...

PIYO tonight


I did PIYO tonight two sessions upper and lower body. It kicked my butt I'm feeling so tired now.

The Challenge continues

Tonight we walked down a local trail.  We went 4.5 miles. The trail had lots of these really pretty pink wild flowers growing all along it. Check them out...

So vibrant sooo beautiful!!
Hubby and I posed for a photo half way though...lol.


June is shaping up to be a really nice month for working out and getting fit!! I got a good amount of steps in today as well!

Sunday Stroll

The weather has been calling for thunderstorms all day, but hubby and I did manage to get a walk in!
We saw some pretty wild flowers while we were out walking. I think they are a flower called Dame's rocket. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesperis_matronalis  I'd get some to bring home and put in my garden but Wikipedia says that they're pretty invasive.

We did a mile and a half around the neighborhood. It was pretty windy and not as warm as I'd have liked but we got some exercise anyway.

A June Challenge

I am so excited to be part of a new challenge at my favorite hang out BurnThis.
My challenge is to:

  • Do something active each day for 30 days 
  • Document your 30-day fitness challenge by sharing a fitness selfie with the #BREAKYOURSELFIE 
  • Share 1x a week to social media to spread the message 

The challenge is called #BREAKYOURSELFIE and launched Friday, June 5th. The goal of the challenge is to do something active for each of the 30 days in June  (technically 6/5/15 - 7/3/15) The message of the challenge is that we are all at our most beautiful when we are our authentic, active selves.
