PIYO tonight


I did PIYO tonight two sessions upper and lower body. It kicked my butt I'm feeling so tired now.

The Challenge continues

Tonight we walked down a local trail.  We went 4.5 miles. The trail had lots of these really pretty pink wild flowers growing all along it. Check them out...

So vibrant sooo beautiful!!
Hubby and I posed for a photo half way though...lol.


June is shaping up to be a really nice month for working out and getting fit!! I got a good amount of steps in today as well!

Sunday Stroll

The weather has been calling for thunderstorms all day, but hubby and I did manage to get a walk in!
We saw some pretty wild flowers while we were out walking. I think they are a flower called Dame's rocket. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesperis_matronalis  I'd get some to bring home and put in my garden but Wikipedia says that they're pretty invasive.

We did a mile and a half around the neighborhood. It was pretty windy and not as warm as I'd have liked but we got some exercise anyway.

A June Challenge

I am so excited to be part of a new challenge at my favorite hang out BurnThis.
My challenge is to:

  • Do something active each day for 30 days 
  • Document your 30-day fitness challenge by sharing a fitness selfie with the #BREAKYOURSELFIE 
  • Share 1x a week to social media to spread the message 

The challenge is called #BREAKYOURSELFIE and launched Friday, June 5th. The goal of the challenge is to do something active for each of the 30 days in June  (technically 6/5/15 - 7/3/15) The message of the challenge is that we are all at our most beautiful when we are our authentic, active selves.

Today to be active I took the dog on a walk.

Clean eating

So I'm doing the Dr. Oz Total 10 diet. You can read about it here: http://www.doctoroz.com/article/your-guide-total-10-rapid-weight-loss-plan
I don't think of it as a diet and it really can't be a diet, it needs to be a life change. It needs to be away you eat all the time and then if you have slip up I need cheat meal that's okay. Not cheat day just a cheat meal. You really really have to stick to this new way of eating clean and in time the desire for crappy food fades away.

Back to blogging

I know it's been a long time since my last blog post. A lot of things have happened, a lot of things changed, and like any other blog that deals mostly with fitness you can imagine there was a good deal of not being fit going on. January I started the body beast workout and I've been doing that. January I also started doing the doctor Oz Total 10 diet which actually is going really well and I highly recommend it.
January was a scary month for me because My pressure was really high 157/87. Which is higher than ever been in my life and my doctor  was talking about putting me on high blood pressure medicine which is not something I want. I decided then it was time to really get back to eating healthy and fitness again. I recently joined a fitness app called #BurnThis which is really cool it's kinda like Instagram but for health and fitness related topics. If you want to check that out you can find me under Kat A. It's that time again..

Race sign-up time...
I've already committed to the 2012 Rock N' Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach on Sept 2nd.
And I'm also considering The Fifth Third River Bank Run on May 12, 2012 - 10K.
And The Reeds Lake Run on June 30, 2012 which is also a 10K.
I'm also toying around with the idea of doing a 5k evening trail run, Moonlit Miles, on July 13, 2012.
This year is already filling up quick!!
